The LUKE Story

Since its humble beginnings in the West Midlands, UK in 2001 LUKE has developed into a leading contemporary menswear brand with a following stretching far and wide. Having grown with the support of key independent menswear boutiques the brand has evolved organically keeping all if its values, which sets it apart.
LUKE is a practical interpretation on contemporary menswear and has all the components of the modern lad, a gentleman, a working-class hero and a bit of a rogue. The brand draws strong influences from the tough elements of its native Birmingham, UK. Foundry worker meets fashionista, Luke's taste envelopes all. Luke's ethos is to put a fashionable twist on any men's garment but without over designing to retain a cool masculine look. The brand offers an exclusive look for an inclusive country, the United Kingdom of Luke.
Luke Roper started life in Walsall Wood in the West Midlands, UK, the son of a talented Dressmaker mother and hardworking father, by 12 he found he had a talent for football and sewing machines, by 15 he was making one off shirts for his friends, he soon became a local legend, with lads from all over the area ordering his unique designs and creations; then hitting the clubs of the Wild West Midlands decked out in Luke's original specially crafted pieces.
London called at 20 where the premier fashion university in the country Central St Martins noticed his talents and a degree in menswear design was obtained. Here Luke honed his skills and hatched a plan with lifelong family friend Simon Poole; a project to make the best menswear brand in the UK was conceived. On graduation Luke teamed up with Deborah Poole to start the fledgling business and the journey began.
The business has the same principles it started with back in the early 2000's. Luke's innovative masculine takes on fashion; teamed with great quality and exclusive distribution means the brand continues to be at the forefront of the British fashion industry.
